1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and data generated when you use the platform.

• Personal information: name, email address, and profile details you add (school, grades, test scores, target universities, majors, extracurriculars, location, and similar admissions-related info).
• Authentication data: if you sign in with Google, we receive basic account details (such as email, name, and profile photo) needed to create or link your account.
• Content: posts, comments, messages, connections, group activity, and media you upload.
• Usage data: how you interact with the feed, notifications, and platform features — used to improve the service and personalize your experience.
• Technical data: cookies that keep you signed in, language preference, and basic device/browser information.

2. How we use your information

• To create your account and keep you signed in securely.
• To connect you with other students and show relevant content in your feed.
• To send verification emails, password resets, and notifications you choose to receive.
• To keep the platform safe and review reported content.
• To improve Uniin and comply with legal requirements.

3. Sharing of data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in these cases:

• With other users — according to your profile visibility settings (what you choose to show on your profile, posts, and messages).
• Service providers — such as Google (sign-in), ImageKit (photo hosting), email delivery, and error monitoring tools that help us run the platform.
• Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect Uniin and its users.

4. Data security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

5. Managing your information

You can update your profile and notification settings in your account. You can control who sees your profile and whether you appear in search.

You can download a copy of your account and profile data from Settings → Data privacy.

6. Data deletion

You can request account deletion from Settings → Data privacy. Your profile is hidden right away. If you sign in again within 30 days, deletion is cancelled. After that, your account is deactivated and personal details are removed from your profile.

Some content you shared (such as posts or messages) may still be visible to others but will no longer be linked to your name. Backup copies may exist for a limited time.

7. Children's privacy

Uniin is built for students preparing for university. Our platform is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

If you are under 18, we recommend using Uniin with a parent or guardian's awareness.

8. Online privacy policy only

This policy applies to information collected through uniin.uz and our app — not to offline interactions or other channels.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of Uniin after changes means you accept the updated policy. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.

10. Consent

By using Uniin, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
